My Journey
For over eighteen years, education has been at the heart of my life. My journey began as an English, Business English, and ESOL teacher. Over the years, I've had the privilege of teaching, mentoring, and assessing students from different age groups, cultures, ethnicities, and academic backgrounds.
Working with learners across different countries and educational systems has taught me that while every student learns differently, they all thrive with the right support. Above all, it has reinforced one simple belief: every student can succeed when they have the right guidance from the right teacher.
My career has also taken me into educational leadership, teacher development, and assessment. These experiences have helped me understand not only what makes great teaching, but also what makes a truly exceptional tutor.
"Every child deserves access to excellent educational support, regardless of their family's financial circumstances. That belief inspired me to create this tutoring service."
When I moved to Scotland, I met many parents who wanted nothing more than the best education for their children. At the same time, I saw how difficult it could be to find tutors who were both highly skilled and genuinely affordable. Too often, families had to choose between quality and cost.
I couldn't help but feel that this wasn't right. Every child deserves access to excellent educational support, regardless of their family's financial circumstances. That belief inspired me to create this tutoring service.
My goal is simple: to make high-quality tuition more accessible by connecting students with carefully selected tutors who are knowledgeable, passionate, and committed to helping every learner succeed. Drawing on my years of experience in teaching, assessment, and educational leadership, I have built a team of tutors who share the same values, high standards, and genuine commitment to helping students achieve their best.
For me, this is about much more than tutoring. It is about giving every student the confidence to believe in themselves, the support to overcome challenges, and the opportunity to reach their full potential. I truly believe that education changes lives, and every child deserves the chance to succeed, regardless of their background or financial circumstances. That belief continues to guide everything we do.

Let the learning begin
Once you’ve found the right fit, it’s time to book your lessons and start learning with MyTutor.
Moderator
Every lesson has someone else in the room.
You're not sending your child into a video call with a stranger and hoping for the best. Every single lesson — from the first demo to the hundredth session — has a moderator quietly present, making sure the tutor is prepared, on time, and actually teaching. If something's off, it gets caught that day, not three months in when the grades slip.
Recordings
You don't have to ask how it went. You can watch it.
"Fine" isn't an answer, it's a shrug. Every class is recorded and sent straight to you and your child afterward — so when Algebra didn't click the first time, you replay the exact five minutes, together, instead of starting from scratch at homework time.
Format Choice
Some kids focus better alone. Some need a friend in the room.
Not every child learns the same way, so we didn't build one way to learn. Study one-on-one for full focus, bring a friend so it feels less like extra school, or join the gang for the energy of a small group. You pick the setting your child will actually show up for.

It happens, and it's fixable. We keep a minimum of three tutors per subject at all times, so switching is quick and doesn't put your child's progress on hold. Start with a demo class — 60 minutes, half price — before you commit to anything longer.
Every tutor comes with a minimum of four testimonials and a verified LinkedIn profile before they teach a single lesson — and after that, a moderator sits in on every class, ongoing, checking that quality holds up week after week. It's not a one-time check. It's continuous.
New to Kelvin Tutors? You get 10% off to start. Refer a friend and you both save 5%. Commit to a 3-month block upfront after your trial month and take a further 10% off. Add a subject to a group session and you save another 5% per subject. Book two or more subjects and you unlock priority access to bookable time slots — the more your child commits to, the less you pay per lesson.
Yes — every class is recorded and sent to you afterward, and a moderator is present live, so nothing happens in that session you can't see or verify. For Primary Subjects (Grade 1–7), your child works one-on-one with a single teacher across every subject, so there's one relationship, not five different faces a week.

If you've got a question a webpage can't answer — which subjects overlap, whether your child needs one-on-one or the gang, what a typical first month looks like — this is the fastest way to get a real answer from a real person, not a script.
Prefer to see it in action instead? Book a Demo Class gets your child in front of a tutor this week, 60 minutes, half price, no long-term commitment.
